LEVEL 1:

  • Course Objectives:
    • Further develop the principles of SAQ Training
    • Examine, understand and appreciate the difference between speed and agility training
    • Examine and develop the concept of agility training and its relevance to conditioning for sport
    • Formally investigate and develop the theory and practice of speed development over 5-10m
    • Demonstrate and teach further exercises which will promote and enhance speed, agility and quickness
    • Assess the ability of each participant to understand the principles of SAQ and deliver an SAQ Training session

    • Revision of the principles of SAQ
    • Dynamic warm-up – individualizing the delivery
    • Development of the Warm-up system
    • The Theory of Speed and Components of Speed
    • Understanding Linear and Agility Speed
    • Principles and Practice of Quickness off the Mark
    • Principles , Theory and Practice of Linear Speed Development
    • Principles , Theory and Practice of Agility Speed Development
    • Practice of Agility and Movement in training for Sport
    • The Principles and practice of using Resistance training to assist Speed Development
    • The Principles and practice of using Assistance training to assist Speed Development
    • Practical  Assessment

    • Examine, understand and appreciate the modern concept of multi-sprint stamina training
    • Examine, understand and appreciate the importance of skill and ball work in the fitness program
    • Explain and teach the principles of power development
    • Examine, understand and appreciate the need for Functional Strength conditioning
    • Examine, understand and appreciate the importance of Core Stability development
